June Lake, CA

When I was about 17 in the mid-1960's, my mom, dad and my brother Keith and I went on a vacation to June Lake, CA. This was the view from the cabin we stayed in on the main street of town. I have not been up there in almost 50 years.

Humboldt Bay/Marina

This is the marina at Woodley Island in the Humboldt Bay of California. This marina is in Eureka, CA.

The Grand Canyon

Took this shot in 1972 when my best friend from high school and I went camping at the Grand Canyon.

The Eel River 1976

This is the Eel River that runs along Highway 101 in northern California near Garberville, CA. It also runs through The Avenue Of The Giants in the California Redwoods. Took this shot the first time Ben and I went up to this area of California together. It was also our first long motorcycle trip. Ben had a Honda Goldwing 1000 and I had a Honda Silverwing 500.

The Little Tree

This is when we first planted our shade tree in the back yard about 16 years ago. Those of you who have seen photos of my back yard now can see that it has grown quite a bit in those 16 years plus the bush on the right is no longer there. Also have a cover over the patio now.

June Lake, CA

Hot Air Balloon Over Saugus, CA

Back in the 1990's when Ben and I first moved to the Santa Clarita Valley, there used to be a hot air balloon company that offered rides over the valley on the weekends. Saw this one floating over Saugus, CA near the old Saugus Speedway.

Grizzly Bluff

This photo was taken back in 1998 with my Kodak Disk digital camera. It actually used floppy disks to record the photos. Ben and I were driving along Grizzly Bluff which is between Rio Dell, CA and Ferndale, CA. The scenery in this area is beautiful.

The Grand Canyon

This was taken on my first trip to the Grand Canyon in 1972. My best friend from high school (Trisha) went with me. We spent about a week in Arizona. Took this shot with an old Brownie camera.

The Eel River

This is the Eel River in Humboldt County, CA. It runs along U.S Hwy. 101 and The Avenue Of The Giants. It is my favorite place in the whole world. Ben and I used to go up to Northern California every year and explore the back roads.

Fisherman's Memorial

This is the Fisherman's Memorial on Woodley Island in Eureka, CA. This is a beautiful spot to visit, especially early in the morning. You will see all kinds of sea birds and sea lions in the marina.

Fernbridge

Viewing the Fernbridge from Highway 101 near Fortuna, CA. This bridge crossed the Eel River and leads you to the town of Ferndale, CA which was Ben's and my favorite place in the whole world.

Scotia, CA is a small company owned town in Humboldt County. There was a lumber company here where the residents of Scotia worked. There used to be a cool self-guided tour of the lumber company before it closed down. Ben and I used to do the tour every time we were up there.

One of the most beautiful places in California. This lighthouse sits on a piece of land that becomes an island when the tide rolls in. It is located in Crescent City, CA.

Hello...

I enjoy taking photographs and sharing them online with my friends and family. Many of you have been following my "Kay's Fotoblog" for a few years now. I have been taking pictures as far back as I can remember. I now use a digital camera and have a blog where I share those photos, plus I share them on Facebook and on Fotki.com, but today I was looking through some old photos that were taken throughout the years with Brownie cameras, Polaroid cameras and point and shoot 35mm cameras and I decided to create this blog to share those "old" photographs with my friends and family. Once a week, each Friday, I will post one of those old photographs here. I hope you enjoy them and that you will send your comments and follow this blog.
